v5.48 Bugs and Exploits

Please report any bugs and exploits for v5.48 that you find. Once we have checked the mentioned issue, and confirmed it, we will add a stamp to your post and add it to this list. We will address the issues for the next version. If possible, please attach a replay / print screen of the bug. Also (if you provide a replay) try to provide some sort of time frame in which you think the bug occurred, (for example; what round) as this makes the debugging far easier and faster.


  • Game (General / Misc);
    - Sell Timer Not resetting when region empties.
    - Boss auras remaining after death.
    - Some towers do not give bounty. (Mainly dps towers / poisons)
    - Sending at the end of game causes income to reset (for that player).
  • Game Modes / Commands;
    - Duplicate builder exploit.
    - Sometimes when mode is entered, only [Player 1] gets a builder. (-repicking solves this, at the cost of some gold)
    - Ancient Forester is never generated in random modes.
    - Swap issue when all players -swap and 1 builder is removed, while another duplicated.
    - Similar to above where one player is left without a builder.
    - -repick sometimes returns the same builder.
    - Typing mode in too early means sometimes they do not activate.
  • Blocking;
    - Multiple equidistant exploding point exploit.
    - Invulnerable / Newly vulnerable perma-block exploit.
    - Some creeps cannot destroy leaver's Towers Replacements.
  • Human Peasent;
    - Rail Cannon hotkey clash.
  • King Leoric;
    - Disease Cloud not working
  • Ogre Warchief;
    - Both Embrace Sight and Embrace Speed have the same hotkey; "S"
  • Troll Summoner;
    - Both Power Critical and Power Voodoo have the same hotkey; "P"
  • Night Elf Summoner;
    - Priestess of the Moon damage bug.
  • Lord Buzan;
    - Bug causing Elder Sasquatsh's muting effects to duplicate items.
    - Firehood giving +200 damage instead of +50.
  • Poseidon's Guard;
    - Drench leveling does not apply to newly created Tidal Wave's
  • Forsaken Emissary;
    - Nether Essence grants the Chaplain's Carrion Swarm +3200 damage, instead of the indicated +2200 (indicated by the tooltips).

I don't think it's an issue. Couldn't do a test in multi player though. Tested with single player "-random" command on a slow laptop and it activated perfectly 3 times in a row (less than a second after the game started I activated the command and it worked perfectly. Picked the random command because when typed early you have to wait until builders are "buyable" which is ,I think, when the mods usually start).
Will try a MP test soon. (if I find someone to help me out in Garena Excited)

Can verify that. I use Garena Hostbot to host TTW, but when i try to add modes to it this bug appears. The mode doesnt work and red cannot write a new mode eighter for some reason.

I can also verify this bug. It happened to me twice a while back when my friend was hosting, thought it might have been due to a space after the mode or something, but this seems more likely. He had the modes shortcut via dotakeys and input it as the game started. Possibly it could be caused by the map flushing the buffer after preloading resources. Not sure if the map code (or jass in general) uses buffers though

this bug happens if you do the mode before all the shrines be on game, sometimes, because of lag i guess it have a 5 seconds delay, and if you put the mode and only the red shrine is on game, this bug will happen.

Got both those issues you mentioned Smile. If I recall correctly both have already been fixed for the next version.
However, didn't know about the crashing part...

It has never happened to me before, perhaps there is something wrong with your war3 that it doesn't handle certain things as it should?

Double hero Bug

Reason: Dual builder is a known bug which will be fixed in the next release. Please do not explain how the bug/exploit is done as it will only encourage "cheaters" to catch on.

-ar is disbalance mode. The game has a lot depends on the races. And mode should be -rm. Host cheater+noob. Just don't play with him.

Please limit posting in this section to bug/exploit reports or confirmations only.

I disagree that -ar is imbalanced as there are different roles that some builders perform better at than others, and different stages of the game that they can do better.

Any further balance discussion in this topic will be deleted or moved to the relevant section. If anybody wishes to discuss balancing or modes, please do so in the Suggestions sub-forum. Thanks

Rain Maker's Heavy Rain Drops slow wolves and dreads who are generally resistant to slow. Is this normal?

Not a bug. Most slow effects on single targets stack a certain amount. Try Ghost Summoner's Banshee's if you want to see some crazy slow Smile

But is it a game mechanics (for better balance)? Firstly I thought all buffs of type "slow" are removed from wolves and this one was just missed Undecided

It is part of the mechanics. Wolves are not immune to slow, which they were in previous versions, though moved slower. Wolves/Dreads/Scorions have a higher base movespeed which is about 50% higher than max, so you could think of them as having an immunity to 50% or less slow.

Afaik, the game tooltip says "resistant to slow", which isn't quite the same as "immune to slow" (as it used to be).

Ok, now it's clear for me (although "movespeed is about 50% higher than max" looks pretty strange i understood (hopefully) what you meant). Hmm, mixed immunity and resistance a bit.. Thanks for answering anyway Smile

Basically creeps have a maximum movespeed. If their movespeed is boosted higher than that they won't move faster, but will still need more to slow them down. Hope that clarifies things a bit. They are not immune to slow, and they are only "resistent" because of how high their base speed is.

I won't give the correct figures, but say for example wolves have 1500 base movespeed, and the maximum speed a unit can move at is 522 (like most maps), you would need to slow the wolf below 522 to actually slow it, so about 66% slow (in this not accurate example). So to slow the wolf by 20% you need to slow it by about 86%.

I tested stack system, figured out only that slow effect is removed in 5 sec and wolf must be hit many times in short period (~1 sec) to reach this speed bareer (522)

I found a weird bug today. We had leaked for first blood and the score was 29-30 until I think round 43. A wagon that I sent got through and the score became 30-29 to us. The weird this is that at this point the first leak message appeared and my whole team got the 25% to income as well. I can post the replay if you want to see it but I have to go now and I'll be gone for the weekend so I'll post it on monday if you want.
